This happened to My great grandmother, her children were split up. Her husband and brother split up all her inheritance and property. Her husband divorced her and remarried to a younger woman and started a new family. My grandma said she died a lonely woman who only peace was that her children were in a safe home.

This show was amazing, but very hard to watch.

As someone from Ireland, this isn't wrong. Although most of the Irish were catholic at the time, and if someone was protestant and lived in Ireland, it usually meant they came from England. But the Irish were treated as lesser by the English, and were forced into marriages with some, forcibly converted, kicked out of their homes and taken as slaves.

Olive was my grandma Judith. So thankful to my mother for breaking that cycle, her sister wasn’t able to, but I’m happy to say her daughter/my cousin did❤ Very proud of them, it’s a very are cycle to break. To be a loving, respectful, nonjudgmental parent that you never had. So very thankful for my momma, I miss her everyday ❤

I have MS and I told my husband that if and when the day comes that I can no longer care for myself, I do not expect him to nor do I want him to take care of me. He understands and agrees. It’s important to us that we remember the days that we shared together as a happy married couple. It’s a heartbreaking thing when your spouse turns into your caregiver, instead of your lover. Having to bathe you…changing your diapers etc is no way to go. I’ll go to a nursing home before I let that happen. Unless you’ve been in this type of situation, it’s very easy to judge others. I want my husband to still have a life outside of my depressing health issues. I want him to be able to let go, find love again, and not resent having to spend the rest of his life being my nurse/caregiver.

Truly sad! Will abuser's ever learn that their abuse of power is the road to self-destruction!!
